A woman who was told to go home by police after traveling from her home in England to a beach in Wales, claimed she was not aware that “Wales wasn’t in England”.

She is understood to have travelled more than 100 miles from the West Midlands to the beach in Barmouth, on Wednesday, May 20 - the hottest day of the year so far.

In an video that she filmed herself, the woman can be seen arguing with two officers after they asked her to leave.

She tells the officers she visited the beach because “Boris Johnson said you can”.

Various elements of the lockdown in England have been eased, including the ability to travel for an unlimited amount of time to do exercise.

But those rules do not apply in Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, where administrations have maintained the “Stay at home” message.

Later on in the video, which she posted on social media, the woman asked the police: “You’re telling me it’s illegal to be at this beach when Boris Johnson said that you can?”

When one of the officers explained the differences in the rules, the woman asks, “So which beach can I go to today?”

In a separate post on social media, the woman told her followers: “I was ignorant. I didn’t realise Wales wasn’t in England.

“Fully understand I was in the wrong. See I admit when I f**k up. But tomorrow we are going to an English beach.

“F**k you Wales,” she added, “you bunch of b******s.”
