Detectives in Glasgow are appealing for information from the public after a serious assault in Lambhill on Sunday, April 19.

Officers say that at around 8:30am, a man in his early 20s walked into Lambhill Cemetery on Balmore Road, seeking help from workers there.

Police say the man had suffered a “serious laceration injury” to his face, and was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where he received a number of stitches.

Police are appealing for information after a serious assault in Lambhill.

Detectives have so far been unable to establish exactly what happened to the man, but believe his injuries suggest he was assaulted.

They are appealing for information from anyone who was on Balmore Road between 7:30am and 8:45am that morning, in a bid to find the location of the attack.

Officers say they are checking for any available CCTV footage from in and around that area for any further information which could assist them in their enquiries.

Detective Constable Paul Corr said: “It’s important we find out exactly what happened to this man and why.

“He may have been walking along Balmore Road anywhere between 7.30 and 8.45am and I would ask anyone who was around the area at that time to contact us.

“In particular, motorists, bus and taxi drivers, please think back and consider if you saw the injured man. He was wearing a light grey hooded top and red shorts.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0786 of 19 April 2020.
