Two men have been arrested after a young man was seriously injured in an attempted murder.

The incident happened at about 3.10am today (Thursday) when a 19-year-old man was injured on Walker Road in Torry, Aberdeen.

The victim was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

Two men, aged 21, have been arrested in connection with the incident, which police are treating as attempted murder.

Detective Sergeant Bruce Buntain, of Aberdeen CID, said: "Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing and I am appealing to anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area to contact police as soon as possible."
