Two men arrested after Livingston crime spree

Police have arrested and charged two men after members of the public were allegedly assaulted and threatened in a crime spree through Livingston.

A series of incidents was reported on Thursday, 18 February and into the early hours of Friday, 19 February, mainly in the Livingston area.

Two men, aged 26 and 23, are due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Monday, 22 February.

They have been charged in relation to a number of alleged offences, including an assault with a bladed weapon against a woman in Uphall on Thursday.

That night, an 18-year-old man was also allegedly assaulted at the underpass at Dedridge East Road, near to Bank of Scotland, at around 6.45 pm.

Around two hours later, a man was allegedly assaulted outside the Minerva chip shop, Kingsport Avenue, Howden.

Two road workers were also also allegedly threatened with a bottle and knives in Manitoba Avenue.

Officers continue to conduct enquiries in relation to this series and have urged anyone who may have witnessed a crime, or not reported an incident to officers already, to come forward.
