Two arrested over summer bank raids

Two men have been arrested in connection with a series of robberies of bank cash from security guards.

The men, aged 27 and 32, were held after guards were robbed at Bank of Scotland in Carmunnock Road, Glasgow in August; the Clydesdale Bank in Main Street, Bothwell in September; and Airdrie Savings Bank in Cumbernauld Road, Muirhead in October.

Police said five-figure sums were stolen in both the Glasgow and Muirhead robberies.
