Three-year-old dies from serious injuries after crash in Scottish town

Officers warn the road where the crash happened will be closed for some time.

A toddler has died after a crash on a road in Dunfermline this morning.

The three-year-old girl was involved in the incident with a blue Nissan Micra car on Main Street, Townhill at 10.10am.

She was rushed to the Victoria Hospital by paramedics, but died a short time later.

Dunfermline police warned motorists in the area that the road where in the incident happened was closed and to avoid the area.

Sergeant Stephen Quinn, of Road Policing East, said: “Our thoughts go out to the family of those involved with this tragic incident and I would ask that their privacy is respected at this time.“Our enquiries continue into the exact circumstances surrounding the crash and we would ask that if anyone has any information that they contact officers.“I would also ask that if anyone has any possible dashcam or CCTV footage of the area to get in touch with police.“Police can be contacted on 101 quoting incident number 0933 of Monday, 3 August, 2020.”
