Shopkeeper ‘traumatised’

A SHOP worker was threatened with a firearm and a metal bar during a robbery, police have said.

The 63-year-old was working in The Corner Shop in Glasgow’s Wellshot Road at about 5pm on Saturday when two men entered the shop. They threatened him with what appeared to be a firearm and a metal bar and demanded money.

They then ran out of the shop with a small amount of money and cigarettes, leaving the shopkeeper in “a very traumatised state”.

The suspects are described as white, of slim build and were in their 20s. Both men were wearing dark hooded tops.

Detective Inspector Garry Sinclair at Shettleston CID said: “We are examining CCTV and speaking to residents in an attempt to identify the two men responsible for this robbery.

“I would, however, like to speak to anyone who has not already spoken to police and who may have seen these men hanging around the area.”
