Search for man who goes missing after spending a week in Scotland

A search has been launched after Richard Woolley, who travelled to the north of Scotland on August 29, failed to return home over the weekend.

Concerns are growing for a man who has not returned home after spending a week in the highlands of Scotland.

Richard Woolley travelled to the Lochinver area on at the end of August and was due to return to his home in Nottinghamshire on September 5.

He was last spoken to on September 4 but nothing has been heard from him since.

Officers have managed to trace his car near a lighthouse near Lochinver and are appealing for information to help trace the 49-year-old as concerns are growing for his welfare.

Sergeant Neal Irving said: "Richard was reported missing on Sunday, September 6 and was last spoken to on Friday, September 4.

"His car has been traced to Stoer Lighthouse car park near Lochinver and officers are carrying out searches of the local area.

"He is described as 5ft 11in tall, of slim build, with blue eyes and grey stubble.

"We do not know what clothing he was wearing at the time of his disappearance.”

Anyone who sees Richard or has any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 3487 of Sunday, 6 September, 2020.
