Scottish weather warning: Police stop driver with frozen windscreen as amber weather warning for snow and ice issued

A driver was pulled over by police after he was spotted driving with his windscreen entirely frozen over.

The red Citreon Nemo was stopped after police in Dumfries and Galloway saw that both the windscreen and the windows were fully frozen over.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland explained: “The driver's visibility was very poor and he could have been involved in an RTC.

"The driver was charged accordingly. Please ensure your car is fully defrosted before travel.”

The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning in Scotland with snow and ice predicted.

The warning lasts from Wednesday through to Thursday evening.

Temperatures will hit highs of 3C and lows of 2C, though the Met Office warn that it will feel like it’s below freezing throughout most of the day.

Police are urging caution on the roads and ScotRail has warned of changes to the timetable and possible delays and cancellations.
