£10k of heroin found inside Scots ‘mule’
Amanda Fleming, 23, had enough heroin hidden inside her to “flood” the streets of Tayside with more than 1,000 bags of heroin.
She was told her sentence was reduced because she had given evidence against fellow gang member David Courtney and could be freed from Cornton Vale as early as January.

Hide AdShe and her minder were on their way back to Dundee in a taxi from Liverpool when they were stopped and subjected to a search by Tayside Police drugs squad officers. The court was told that petty shoplifter Fleming had never been to England before her trip to Liverpool in October last year to act as a mule for the drugs gang.
When a full cavity search was carried out on Fleming, the officers discovered 105 grams of heroin, with a street value of £10,500, which Sheriff Robert McCreadie said was enough to “flood” the streets of Dundee with 1,050 deals.
At Perth Sheriff Court yesterday, Fleming was jailed for a year after Sheriff Robert McCreadie gave her a discount for pleading guilty and giving Crown evidence.
