Provost Watt Drive: Man pushes pensioner to the ground while attempted to take her money in Aberdeen

An appeal has been launched after an attempt was made to steal money from a 78-year-old woman in Aberdeen.

The woman had just withdrawn money from a cash machine in Provost Watt Drive when she was approached by a man who tried to take it from her.

She was pushed to the ground in the process, and he made off on a white bicycle in the direction of the playing fields.

Man pushes pensioner to the ground while attempted to take her money in Aberdeen

Police are asking anybody with information about the incident, that happened at around 4pm on Monday, May 3, to come forward.

Detective Constable Christopher Chapman said: “This was an unprovoked attempt to take money from and elderly woman who was left very shaken by what happened.

"She was pushed to the ground and fortunately she was not injured but this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated.
