Police treating Glasgow street death as suspicious

THE death of a man found in a Glasgow street is being treated as suspicious.

Police were called to Elizabeth Street in Govan at about 2am on Tuesday and found the man, who is yet to be identified.

Paramedics were also in attendance but he died at the scene.

Officers said a post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the cause of death but it being treated as suspicious.

Police are believed to be following a positive line of inquiry.

Detective inspector Mark Henderson said: “Our enquiries are at an early stage as we try to piece together how this man came to his death.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard anything, perhaps you heard a disturbance, perhaps you heard shouting.

“Please do get in touch with us even if you think your information may not be relevant to the inquiry, please pass it on.”
