Police Scotland launches investigation after body of man pulled from Water of Leith
The force said the man, who has not been formally identified, was discovered at a point in the river near Couper Street at around 7:55am.
One Leith local told the Evening News that at least four ambulances were spotted heading along Ferry Road towards the scene at around 8:20am – including an incident response unit, as well as national risk and resilience department vehicles.

Hide AdIt is understood that the emergency services left the scene at around 9:30am.
Officers have now launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
In a statement, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.55am on Saturday, 10 April, 2021, we received a report of the body of a man in the Water of Leith near Couper Street in Edinburgh.
“The body was recovered from the water and inquiries into the circumstances are ongoing. As with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
