Police probe 'suspicious' fire which destroyed Bonnybridge taxi

Police are currently investigating the 'suspicious' incident.

It is treating the incident as ‘suspicious’.

The blaze happened in the early hours of Friday, at around 2:00am on Norwood Avenue in Bonnybridge.

Emergency services attended and there were no injuries sustained, but the fire completely destroyed the taxi.

After receiving a report of the fire at 2.23 am, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the blaze at 3.01 am with one fire appliance from Larbert in attendance.

Police inquiries are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police were called around 2.40am on Friday January 8, following the report of a car on fire at an address in Norwood Avenue,Bonnybridge.

“Emergency services attended and the Scottish Fire and Rescue service extinguished the fire safely and there were no injuries.

"Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the fire which is currently being treated as suspicious.”
