Police launch new searches as Glasgow man Vincent Barr missing for almost a month

Police are carrying out fresh searches in the Tradeston and Bromielaw areas of Glasgow, in an effort to trace missing man Vincent Barr.

Vincent Barr was last seen heading into the Tradeston area.

Also known as Vinny or Bardo, the 54-year-old from the Govan area has been missing for several weeks and officers are concerned for his safety.

The last confirmed sighting was on Friday, 18 September, around 9.10pm when Vincent was captured on CCTV.

He can be seen walking across the Tradeston footbridge, known locally as the 'squiggly' bridge, and then heading into the wider Tradeston area.

Police have now appealed to Vincent directly in the hope that he can let officers know he is safe and well.

Vincent is described as white, 5ft 6in in height, with a medium build. He has short light-brown hair and brown eyes, and also walks with a slight limp.

When last seen, he was wearing a grey Nike hoodie, black jogging bottoms and grey training shoes.

He has also been known to often visit the city centre of Glasgow, and also the Saracen, Possil and West End areas.

Sergeant Bob Anderson, from Helen Street Police Station, said some potential sightings had already been investigated.

He said: "It has been more than three weeks since the last confirmed sighting of Vincent and we are growing increasingly worried for his wellbeing.

"Extensive and significant enquiries have already been carried out, with a number of potential sightings of him in the city centre already followed up.

"To date however, he still hasn’t been traced, and so further searches are underway today the Tradeston and Bromielaw areas of the city where he was last seen.

"Vincent tends to keep himself to himself, but we would appeal directly to him to contact officers, or someone he knows, to confirm he is safe and well.

"I would again urge anyone who has possibly seen him, or who has any knowledge of where he might be, to please get in touch with us.

"It's imperative any information, no matter how small, is passed onto local officers, who can be spoken to via 101, quoting reference number 1116 of Sunday, 20 September."
