Police issue urgent appeal after motorcyclist seriously injured

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured in a crash in Aberdeenshire.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the 38-year-old's black KTM bike was involved in a collision with a black Audi A5.

The crash happened on the B979 near Clinterty, at the A96 junction, at around 12.40pm on Wednesday.

Police Scotland said the motorcyclist is being treated in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Sergeant Alexander Bowser-Riley, from the Road Policing Unit, said: "Inquiries into the crash are ongoing and I would urge anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the collision, or anyone who was driving on the road at the time and saw what happened, and has not already spoken to police to contact us."
