Police find body of missing T in the Park man

Police have found a body in the search for a man reported missing on his way home from T in the Park.

Officers have informed the family of missing man James Richardson, 29, after a body was found near the village of Forteviot on Tuesday morning.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Inquiries into the full circumstances are continuing but the death is being treated as unexplained at this time.”

Mr Richardson, from Wishaw, South Lanarkshire, is said to have been returning from the music festival at Strathallan when he went missing on Monday.

Family members earlier appealed on social media for information on his disappearance and said he had been coming back by bus.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw a man wearing a grey waterproof Regatta jacket, red shorts and black work boots in the area of the A9 near Forteviot or the surrounding areas between 2.15pm on Monday and 9.15am the following day to call 101.
