Police called to disperse party of '30 to 40 youths getting into a fight' at Edinburgh flat

A party of about “30 to 40” youths had to be dispersed by police after they “got into a group fight” at a flat in the Capital.

Officers were called to an address in Northcote Street, near Haymarket, after a neighbour to the flat where the youths were gathered reported the disturbance at about 8.30pm on Sunday night.

One concerned resident, who lives near to where the incident happened, told Edinburgh Evening News: “About 30 to 40 underage kids were having a party and getting into a group fight in Northcote Street tonight (Sunday).

“It was reported to the police and they broke it up.”

A police spokeswoman said: "At about 8.25pm on Sunday, 25 October, officers were called to a report of a disturbance within a flat on Northcote Street, involving a number of youths.

"Officers attended and dispersed the people in attendance and advice and assistance was given."
