New picture released of tragic Julius Czapla as police say the death is being treated as 'suspicious'


Police Scotland said that detectives are still carrying out an investigation into the toddler’s death on Saturday morning but confirmed that it was being treated as ‘suspicious’ following a post mortem examination.
Little Julius was declared dead at the scene after the emergency services were called to a block of flats in Muirhouse Place West at around 9.30am.

Hide AdPolice later arrested Lucasz Czapla, 40, who appeared in private on petition from custody at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday charged with assault.
Mr Czapla was also charged with driving over the alcohol limit, dangerous driving and failing to stop a vehicle. He made no plea to any of the charges and was remanded in custody.
Following the tragedy, locals gathered outside the building where Julius died and placed flowers, notes, candles, soft toys and photographs in tribute to the youngster.
