Murder hunt after body find in Lanark

A MURDER investigation has been launched after a 25-year-old man was found dead in the early hours of yesterday.

The body of Graeme Melville was found after officers were called to an address in the Smylum Park area of Lanark at about 4am.

Last night, they appealed for anyone who had seen Mr Melville on Wednesday night to come forward.

Detective Chief Inspector Louise Raphael, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is a terrible crime. The loss of this young man’s life has left his family and his friends absolutely devastated.

“It is imperative that we track down and bring to justice whoever is responsible.”
