Moray Food Plus: Manhunt after 'deplorable' crime as three figure sum of cash and food stolen from local charity in Elgin

A man hunt is underway in Elgin after a three figure sum and a quantity of food was stolen from a local charity.

The break in happened in the early hours of the morning on Sunday, December 6 at Moray Food Plus.

A three figure sum of cash and a quantity of food was taken from the premises at 203 High Street.

PC Brian Donaldson from Elgin Community Policing Team, said; "This is a deplorable crime given that the premises is operated by a charity which is used to support people in need, particularly at this time of year.

"We are following a positive line of enquiry but I would still like to appeal for anyone who saw a man in the vicinity of the premises between 2230 hours on Saturday and 0120 hours on Sunday morning to get in touch with Police."
