When requested to stop the driver drove off until police eventually got the car to pull over.

But officers then smelled cannabis coming from the vehicle.

After a search cannabis was found inside the car along with scales and a cut-throat razor.

The driver, 29, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs, possession of Class A and B drugs and also a bladed article, obstructing police, driving otherwise in accordance with a licence, no insurance and suspicion of drug-driving.

A search of the suspect's home address resulted in more drugs being seized and he has now been released under investigation.

Brief details of the incident were given on the Facebook page of Greater Manchester Police's Tameside North Division, with the posting saying: "One thing guaranteed in this job is you never know what you'll come across next. What sort of funerals is he going to?!"
