Man held after body found in Hawick flat

A MAN has been detained by police following the discovery of a body in a flat in Hawick.

Lothian and Borders Police were called to a flat in the Borders town just after 11pm yesterday, where they found the body of a 44-year-old man.

The death is being treated as suspicious and a man is in custody while the investigation continues.

A police spokesman said: “Lothian and Borders Police can confirm that an investigation is currently ongoing into a death in Hawick in the Scottish Borders. The death is being treated as suspicious and a male is currently being detained.”
