Man charged after Scottish pensioner dies when quad bike mounted pavement

The 75-year-old died at the scene.

A man has been charged in connection with a fatal crash in Glasgow.

Margaret Meldrum, 75, died at the scene in Millbrix Avenue, Knightswood, after a quad bike mounted a pavement and hit her on July 13 last year.

Kurt Kilgour, 24, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday accused of death by dangerous driving.

He was also charged with driving while unfit through drink or drugs, failing to provide a breath specimen and driving without an appropriate licence or insurance.

Kilgour, whose address was given to the court as being of no fixed abode, made no plea and was remanded in custody.
