Man arrested in connection with attempted murder in Ayr supermarket car park

Police have arrested in a man connection with an alleged attempted murder in a supermarket car park.

A 35-year-old man was assaulted in the car park of the Aldi store on Main Street in Ayr at 10.45pm on Sunday.

He was taken to Ayr hospital for treatment, and has since been released.

According to Police Scotland, a 35-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

He is now expected to appear at Ayr sheriff court on Monday.
