Man arrested after 65-year-old's 'suspicious' death in Glenrothes incident

A man has died and another has been arrested after an incident in Glenrothes last night which saw emergency services on the scene.

A 29-year-old man has been arrested after an incident at the Fife town’s Uist Road, while officers have confirmed that a 65-year-old man has died.

Police and ambulance services were at the scene last night, shortly after 7pm, and inquiries are still ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.10pm on Saturday, 20 February, officers were called to a report of a disturbance at a house in Uist Road, Glenrothes.

"Emergency services attended, however a 65 year-old man was pronounced dead a short time later. A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, however the death is currently being treated as suspicious.

“A 29 year-old man has been arrested in connection with this incident and enquiries are ongoing.”
