Fife robbery: Man steals woman's handbag after she gets off bus

A man stole a woman’s handbag containing personal belongings and cash shortly after she got off a bus in Fife.

The 56-year-old woman left a bus at a stop on Bank Street, Lochgelly, and walked to Chapel Street when a man approached her and stole her bag at about 8.10pm on Friday, 12 February.

The stolen item contained a three-figure sum of cash and her personal belongings.

Officers said the man has been described as wearing dark clothing and a surgical style face mask at the time of the incident.

Enquiries are ongoing and police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the robbery or who saw anything in the area around that time to contact them.

Detective Inspector Christopher Dow said: “Thankfully no-one was injured in this incident but the victim was left understandably shaken.”

He is asking anyone with information in relation to the robbery to contact police on 101 quoting incident 3376 of Friday, 12 February, 2021.
