Fife police investigate report man tried to steal two dogs being walked

Police in Fife are investigating reports of a man trying to steal two dogs being walked.

It happened in Dunfermline on Monday morning.

Police said the owner was walking her dogs between Fillan Street and Serf Avenue around 8.30am.

She was approached by a man who tried to remove the leads from her dogs, in what can only be viewed as an attempted theft.

The man made off empty handed and was seen to enter a white coloured Ford Transit van parked nearby.

The vehicle was described as being visibly rusty.

The suspect is described as being white, in his late 20s around 6ft tall and of slim build, had dark coloured hair and was wearing a black hooded top and a black mask.

Police have made an appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
