Edinburgh Hogmanay: Police break up gathering as hundreds of people meet at two Capital beauty spots
Police attended both Calton Hill and the Castle Esplanade after receiving reports and the people were dispersed.
Both Police Scotland and the First Minister warned Hogmanay revellers earlier in the day to follow the strict guidelines.

"House parties or first footing will spread the virus.
"Covid cases are rising and we must keep each other safe - especially with vaccines now coming.
"Thank you and happy Hogmanay.”
Coronavirus regulations state that only two households can meet outside, and no mixing of households is to occur indoors.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were aware of gatherings at Edinburgh Castle and Calton Hill around midnight on Hogmanay.
