Edinburgh dog walker in the dock facing series of charges including failing to treat an injured pet

An Edinburgh dog walker has appeared in court in connection with a series of alleged dog attacks earlier this year.

Heather Sian Hiram is alleged to have been in control of a Rottweiler and a Doberman which attacked and repeatedly bit a Cockapoo dog named Angus at Whitehill Mains Farm in Musselburgh, East Lothian.

Hiram, 43, is also said to have caused the Cockapoo unnecessary suffering by not seeking veterinary treatment following the alleged dog attacks at the farm on June 23 this year.

Hiram, of Tudsberry Avenue, Edinburgh, is also alleged to have engaged in a course of conduct which caused Linda Pantellerisco fear and alarm by repeatedly shouting at her, approaching her in an aggressive manner and videoing her.

She is also said to have uttered menacing remarks in relation to a horse belonging to the Ms Pantellerisco and uttering offensive remarks during alleged incidents at Whitehill Mains Farm between June 6 and 26 this year.

Hiram is facing further allegations of allowing a quantity of dogs to be off their leads and run around operational farm machinery at the same location on June 9 this year.

She is facing a total of nine allegations including assaulting Ms Pantellerisco by repeatedly pushing her on the body and spitting at her on June 9 this year.

Further charges state Hiram shouted and swore at Tam Crawford Brown, film him and throw away his business card during an alleged incident at the farm on May 27 this year.

Hiram is also said to have allowed Angus the Cockapoo to run away and be attacked by an unknown dog at Milton Crescent, Edinburgh, on April 21 this year.

And she is also alleged to have caused a Golden Labrador named Ruby unnecessary suffering by allowing an unknown dog which she was responsible for to attack the Labrador at Rosewell, Midlothian, on December 22 last year.

Hiram appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court where she pleaded not guilty to all nine charges and a trial was set down for February next year.

Sheriff Nigel Morrison placed certain conditions on Hiram pending the trial including not being allowed to approach or contact named complainers, Ms Pantellerisco, Walter Brown and Stuart and Bevin Manderson, as well as not being allowed to enter Whitehill Mains Farm and Milton Crescent, Edinburgh.
