Duns Assault: Police appeal for information after man punched in the face and robbed

The incident took place on Gourlays Wynd on Saturday.

Police are appealing for information after a man was punched in the face and then robbed in Duns on Saturday evening.

The 26-year-old man was walking in Gourlays Wynd when he was punched in the face by a man who then ran off with a small amount of ash and a bank card.

The suspect was described as white and wearing a brown coloured hooded top and dark trousers.

Police are asking anybody with any information on the incident, which took place on Saturday, August 1 at around 9.30 pm, to come forward.

Detective Constable Bruce Dodds at Galashiels CID said: “I’d like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anyone who recognises the description of the suspect.

“I believe that the suspect was in the company of another man at this time and I urge him to do the decent thing and come forward and speak to the police.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting incident number 1408 of 2 August 2020.
