Dog put down after attacking Scottish girl, 10, as two people charged

The dog has been euthanised following the attack

Two people have been charged and a dog put down after a child was taken to hospital following an attack in Glasgow.

The ten-year-old girl was attacked by the animal on Maukinfauld Road, Parkhead, in the city’s east end on Wednesday afternoon.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3pm on Wednesday, October 30, we received a report of a dog having attacked a 10-year-old girl on Maukinfauld Road, Glasgow.

“She was taken to hospital and released after treatment.

“A 52-year-old man and a 77-year-old woman have been charged in connection with this incident. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

“The dog was euthanised following this incident.”
