Cyclist killed in hit-and-run

Police are appealing for information after a cyclist was killed in a hit-and-run incident.

The 22-year-old was knocked off his bike by a car that did not stop in Glasgow on Monday. He was taken to Southern General Hospital, where he later died.

The cyclist was hit in Paisley Road West, near the Portman Street junction, in Glasgow at about 5:45pm.

Police said the car, described as small and dark, kept driving west towards Paisley.

Strathclyde Police have appealed for information.

They said they are carrying out “extensive inquiries” to trace the car and its driver.
