Clydebank incident: Train station closed after bomb squad called to investigate suspicious package found nearby

A bomb squad has been called to probe a suspicious package found near a train station in West Dumbartonshire.

The item was found in Kilbowie Road in Clydebank shortly before 12.15pm on Thursday, 17 March.

Nearby Singer train station has been closed as a precaution, although the suspicious item was not found inside it.

A police spokeswoman said: “Officers were called around 12.15pm to Kilbowie Street, Clydebank, following reports of a suspicious package.

“Emergency services, including EOD, are in attendance and carrying out enquiries.”
