Brodick Road incident: Man charged after armed police called to property in Kirkcaldy after reports of a firearm

Armed police officers were called to a property in Fife on Monday night following reports that a man was in possession of a gun.

The report was made just after 8pm on Monday, April, 5, and alerted police to a man thought to be in possession of a firearm on Dallas Drive, Kirkcaldy.

Armed officers attended the scene and an individual was traced to the nearby Brodick Road area.

Police believe there was no weapon involved however an individual has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

A police spokesperson said: "We received a report of a man believed to be in possession of a firearm on Dallas Drive, Kirkcaldy, around 8.10pm on Monday, 5 April, 2021. Armed officers attended and the man was traced in the Brodick Road area.

"No firearm was recovered following a search. A 27-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a breach of the peace.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
