Attempted murder in Scottish city leaves man in hospital with serious injuries

A man has been taken to hospital with severe injuries to his body and head following an attempted murder in Glasgow.

The 35-year-old was found lying seriously injured after being attacked by three men in Glen Esk Drive, Darnley, at about 11.25pm last night.

A man, 35, has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The injured man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he is being treated for severe injuries to his arms and a head injury.

Hospital staff describe his condition as serious.

Enquiries are continuing and police are appealing for information.

Detective Sergeant Nick Gribben of Helen Street Police Station said: “We are carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding this attempted murder, and trace whoever is responsible. House to house enquires are ongoing and we are checking CCTV from in and around the local area to gather more information for our investigation.

“I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this attack take place, or anyone who was driving in the area of Glen Esk Drive late on Saturday night who has dash-cam footage, as they may have information that will assist our inquiry.
