Arrest made following Niddrie bomb scare

Police have arrested a 40-year-old man after a suspicious package was found at an address in Niddrie last night

Bomb disposal units were deployed to the scene with surrounding homes also evacuated as a precuationary measure. 
Specialist engineers from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal established it was not be a viable device and that it posed no threat to the public.
