Anti-smuggling drive at Scots jail

AN INITIATIVE aimed at stopping drugs and mobile phones being smuggled into a Scottish prison has resulted in a 76 per cent fall.

Prison Watch, run jointly at HMP Edinburgh by the Scottish Prison Service (SPS) and Lothian and Borders Police, has also resulted in 48 cases due to be heard at sheriff court involving alleged smuggling of contraband into a jail.
