Allan Bryant: Family of missing Fife man reveal they've had a visit from police after human remains found at industrial estate

Allan Bryant was last seen leaving the Styx nightclub in Glenrothes in November, 2013.

The venue was a one-mile walk from his home.

Despite a massive search by police, no trace of the then 23-year-old has ever been found.

Allan Bryant has not been seen since going missing after a night out nearly seven years ago.

His parents have campaigned ever since to keep his name in the public eye.

Now, after human remains were discovered at the Whitehill Industrial Estate at around 5.20pm on Sunday, the family have revealed that police officers have spoken to them.

However, it is not yet known if the discovery is linked to Allan's disappearance, with forensic teams still on site to assist with enquiries, which police have advised are still at an early stage.

Revealing the police visit on a Facebook page set up to help find Allan, his father, Allan snr, wrote: "My family had a visit from Glenrothes CID last night they informed us that human remains where found at a local industrial estate which is not far from our home.

“This is all my family know at the moment until the police and forensics carry out their investigation.

“This is a heartbreaking and distressing time for all my family we do not know if this is our son Allan or not.”

Earlier, a spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed: "Around 5:20pm on Sunday 27 September 2020, police were called after unidentified human remains were found at an industrial estate on Whitehill Road in Glenrothes.”
