Joshua’s mum Lynn Bell is now trying to trace the driver to thank him for protecting her son.

Posted a thank you message on Airdrie Taxis Facebook page, describing the driver as “angel”, suggesting that “some people would just have drove past.”

Lynn told a daily newspaper that she wants to trace the mystery driver to thank him.

She said: “This guy is an actual hero as far as I’m concerned and I would like to treat him to a wee dinner or something nice with his family. He wouldn’t accept a fare either!”
