31-year-old man arrested following armed police attending property in Livingston

A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged following an incident which occurred at an address in Livingston on Sunday.

Officers attended the incident in the Queens Crescent area of Livingston on March, 14 at around 10am in response to an ongoing police investigation.

They remained at the scene all day and an eyewitness told the Evening News they saw what looked like “specialist firearms officers” standing in front of the property.

They also reported a helicopter flying over the area while police were in attendance.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said on Monday: “Officers were in attendance in the Queen’s Crescent area of Livingston on Sunday, March, 14, 2021 in response to an ongoing police investigation.

“A 31-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection. He is expected to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Monday, March, 15.

"The incident was contained to an address and there was no wider risk to the public."

Police have not released any further details on the incident.
