Council report claims trams on time and on budget

Edinburgh’s tram project will be completed on time and within budget, a new report has said.

The city council’s governance, risk and best value committee will tomorrow confirm the findings of a report which details the costs of the project so far. It reveals that £700 million has been spent on the project, out of a budget of £776m, with more than a year before the line is due to open.

The council report also says that most utility diversion works have now been completed, with only smaller street services remaining.
