Body found in Thurso pond

POLICE are investigating the discovery of a body in a boating pond in the Highland town of Thurso.

Northern Constabulary are not treating the death of the “elderly man” as suspicious.

It is understood he may have gone out on Wednesday night and fallen into the pond.

The body was discovered at 7am on Thursday.

A Northern Constabulary spokeswoman said the man’s family had been informed, although formal identification had still to take place.
