All the family live within a three mile radius between Newton Mearns and Clarkston.

And their secret to a happy marriage? “Making each other laugh, compromising, and having family and lots of friends around,” they said.

Both have led a good, active life enjoying plenty of nice holidays, lots of fabulous parties, numerous games of golf, curling, playing bridge to name but a few.

They did also work hard. Joan was a physiotherapist and Bill had his own car garage business.
