. The Kinneuchar Inn
This 17th-century pub and restaurant in Fife came in at number 14 and, according to SquareMeal ‘serves an affordable yet elevated a la carte menu.’ Photo: TSPL
. Inver
Listed at number 23, Inver is a restaurant with bothies and shepherds huts on site and is located in the peaceful and picturesque Loch Fyne. SquareMeal says Inver ‘blends ultra-fresh local produce - sometimes straight out of the loch - with clever Nordic technique.’ Photo: TSPL
. Cail Bruich
In at 33, is Glasgow’s first Michelin Star restaurant in years. Former Restaurant Andrew Fairlie chef, Lorna McNee is at the helm of this stylish west end restaurant. SquareMeal says ‘Cail Bruich is a special occasion spot worth saving up for.’ Photo: Clair Irwin
. Celentano’s
Number 39 of the top 100 is Celentano’s, a fairly new restaurant located in Cathedral House. SquareMeal notes the ‘simple, unfussy dishes designed to be shared with loved ones.’ Photo: Celentano’s
5. Restaurant Andrew Fairlie
Recently named the best restaurant in the UK by Harden’s, Scotland’s only two Michelin Star restaurant is at number 45 in this list. SquareMeal says that the food is made into ‘precise, sumptuous dishes, rooted in European tradition and the very best Scottish produce.’ Photo: Alan Donaldson
6. Glenturret Lalique
Scotland’s only Michelin Star restaurant within a distillery is number 49 in the top 100. Head chef Mark’s dishes are deemed to be worth the trip as his ‘globetrotting menus are out of this world.’ Photo: Glenturret Lalique
7. Eleanore
This Edinburgh restaurant is another relative newbie to the scene, and is Roberta Hall-McCarron’s second restaurant in the city. The SquareMeal team, who ranked it at 53, said that it ‘has smashed all expectations. We love the soothing interiors almost as much as we love Hall-McCarron’s delicious, inventive cooking.’ Photo: Eleanore
8. Bar Brett
A laid-back sister restaurant to Cail Bruich, Bar Brett in Glasgow takes the spot at number 56. SquareMeal notes that it’s a ‘wine bar where the food is as good - if not better - than the carefully selected low-intervention drinks list.’ Photo: Bar Brett
