Council investigation
East Ayrshire Council, who are responsible for food hygiene ratings in Kilmarnock, confirmed they will investigate the restaurant.
In a statement, a council spokesman said: “Officers from East Ayrshire Council will be fully investigating this matter to ensure that the restaurant owner is complying with all relevant legislation.”
‘It’s immoral!’
People across social media reacted with disgust at the suggestion they could choose to eat aardvark.

One customer in the shop said: ''It was really bizarre. A woman in a white coat and a hair net said she was an inspector and wanted more information on the aardvark pizza.
''She said she needed to know where it was from and if they had documentation. The staff member was saying it was only called an aardvark pizza, there wasn't actually aardvark in it.
''He said it was just spicy mince, chicken and lamb.''
