Aardvark pizza is on the menu at this Scottish restaurant

A Scottish restaurant has unveiled the world's first pizza with a topping of aardvark.

The unique meal featuring the nocturnal mammal is on offer at Indian Accent in Kilmarnock.

Customers have been flocking into restaurant to try the spicy pizza which comes complete with green chillies, chicken and lamb mince. The dish is being sold for between £6.50 and £11.50.

Head chef Anser Anton, 43, told the Daily Record, "I wanted to bring unique flavours to the people of Kilmarnock and bring out the different flavours.''

Shocked reactions

Amused locals took to social media to comment on the bizarre pizza.

One said, "Aardvark is a staple of the Kilmarnock diet."

Another wrote, "It's immoral...why eat aardvark."

Andrea Graham added, ''Disgusting''.
