Coronavirus in Scotland: One new death reported as 133 test positive for Covid-19 in 24 hours

One new coronavirus-related death has been recorded and 133 people have tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours, according to the latest Scottish Government figures.

To date, 81 people are being treated in hospital with recently confirmed Covid-19 and one person was in an ICU having recently tested positive for the virus.

The new figures come as the government confirmed that 2,782,162 people have now received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 1,102,690 have received their second dose.

Since the start of the outbreak last year, 225,479 people in Scotland have tested positive for the virus.

So far, 7,653 people have died who have tested positive for the virus and 10,055 deaths have been registered in Scotland where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

It has been confirmed that 33 per cent of Covid-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 60 per cent were in hospitals and six per cent were at home or non-institutional settings.
