Extra-curricular activities Many sports, including step aerobics, spin cycles, softball/baseball and fishing; strong in music – pupils participate at divisional level, some sing in world-famous Paisley Abbey Choir, and some extend their musical education at the RSAMD. Some talented pupils are encouraged to sit Higher Music a year earlier than usual in S4 with Advanced Higher in S5.

Community links: We are very fortunate in having many pupils who through thought, time and effort enhance the school experience for a significant number of others.

Vocational education: We offer vocational courses in partnership with Reid Kerr College and have made use of the newer national qualifications such as hospitality, and practical craft skills to offer courses in the school.

Extra-curricular activities: Wide range of sport, Friends of Tanzania, ICT, music, Scripture Union, study support. S6 organise activities for S1 pupils during school day as part of befrienders' scheme, including the talent show and paired reading. Overseas trips and events such as ski trips, theatre visits, gallery visits.

Uniform/dress code: We have one which is supported by parents and pupils. All pupils wear uniform.

Community links: All pupils in S3-4 spend one afternoon per week on community projects to develop active citizenship. We have a strong relationship with nearby Corseford School, run by Capability Scotland, which educates children with severe difficulties. In social and vocational skills. Pupils work with nurseries and clubs for elderly. We raise funds for St Vincent's Hospice in Howwood. Senior pupils are members of the Johnstone Festival Committee. Many seniors undertake sports coaching qualifications and use them to run sports programmes in primaries.

Vocational education: Curricular change in middle school allow pupils to undertake enterprise projects and there are half or single day Determined to Succeed events for S1-4. There are enterprise inserts in Intermediate 1 Biology (growing and selling plants and vegetables), in Social and Vocational Skills where pupils have to provide a service and in technical studies where there are 'design/make/sell' projects. In S3-4, pupils have option of participating in Renfrewhire Vocational Programme at Reid Kerr College in Paisley.

Community links: We are deeply aware of our responsibilities to the wider community and put great importance on charity work. We work with Association for People with Disabilities (Bangalore); SCIAF; Mary's Meals; Pro Life; St Vincent's Hospice; Beatson Institute; Yorkhill Hospital and various charities in Africa. We were the first Fairtrade school in Scotland.

Vocational education: In partnership with Reid Kerr College, we provide young people with a variety of opportunities including hairdressing, child care, 2D animation, media studies, construction, engineering and sports coaching. A number of S5 pupils work in a voluntary capacity with Erskine Hospital. We are proud of our effective links with the Careers Service and are regularly joined by local businesspeople to ensure pupils are fully informed of the future opportunities available to them.

Qualities: Students are encouraged to maximise their talents, achieve their potential inside and outside the classroom and grow as responsible, Christian individuals able to contribute positively to society.
