Sarah McDaid goes it alone with PR consultancy
McDaid, who spent more than four years at Pagoda in Edinburgh having previously been an account manager at Golley Slater, said: “There’s a real need for a freelance consultant that can offer combined PR and public affairs expertise to clients, especially smaller organisations and charities.
“I’ve got my eye on university spin-outs and the huge range of science and tech businesses around Edinburgh. Four years of working with quantum physicists and chemical engineers means I’ve developed a bit of a niche in that area.”

Hide AdHer new venture comes as communications and PR outfit Beattie, which recently revealed a surge in turnover, announced plans to create six digital marketing jobs in Edinburgh.
Managing director Laurna Woods said: “Until now we have exclusively had a PR team operating in Edinburgh. However, we have won so much business from new and existing clients that we are setting up a digital team in the city.”
